In 1960 the humans went somewhere where they will not ever before been. The bathyscaphe Trieste was dive into the Mariana Trench, what is the deepest place on earth. The pressure outside that vehicle was over 11 000 kilograms per square centimeters. The Trieste was equipped with the dive tank, what was filled with oil, and the liquid was given capacity for that vehicle to dive in the bottom of the earth. Liquids don't impact the pressure, and that was allowed to use the safety tank in that submarine. The cabin of the crew was made as the ball, and that gave very good pressure and impact resistance for that vehicle. Trieste was very safe and advanced scientific submarine, and it was made as the lighter than water. That caused the phenomenon, where this ship was raised to the surface if the electricity in that submarine was cut off.
Under the submarine was also wo keel or tanks, what were filled with bullets. The thing that gave the extreme safety for that vehicle was that this keel was hung under the submarine by electric magnets. Diving operation was made by using two propellers above this vehicle. There are the rumors about this vehicle, that its real mission was to take the high-yield nuclear weapon in the bottom of those giant canyons, what is crossing the bottom of the sea.
If there will be detonated the 15 megaton size thermonuclear device at the bottom of those trenches, they might cause the very destructive tsunami, what will be very dangerous for the people who live coasts, near the explosion. 15 megatons were the magnitude of CASTLE BRAVO, and that was the most powerful nuclear detonation whatever shot by the USA. The NEKTON project had probably some military aspects because the owner of that submarine was U.S Navy and the creator of this vehicle was swiss engineer Auguste Piccard. Of course, nowadays Trieste is getting old, and many of the missions of that kind of vehicles are given to the robots.
I personally think that there were made some investigations, what consider the artificial tsunamis and their use against the naval bases. In those scenarios, the submarine will release the nuclear mine at the bottom of the sea. That device might cause terrible tsunamis. that will destroy all sites at the coastline. There were rumors that the USA and the Soviet Union were set the nuclear weapons at the bottom of the sea during the cold war.
That kind of special nuclear weapons would be detonated by the code, what would give by the same communication equipment, what is used with the ballistic missile submarines. Those underwater nuclear explosives could destroy naval bases like Murmansk or Philadelphia in the seconds. There are developed the nuclear warhead torpedoes, what uses Radio Thermal Generator to give their almost unlimited patrolling time, and that kind of weapon can be patron even the years, and when it will get the orders, it can drive to the coastline and detonate itself near some naval base. The Russian navy has the giant submarine shaped torpedo known as "Status 6", what has 60 megaton nuclear weapons inside it. Also, those nukes would be used as the nuclear sea mine.
Those mines would be the intelligent component, what will detonate that bomb only when there would be important enough, for targeting there a nuclear weapon. This kind of weapons are "Stonefish"-type nuclear sea mines, what can deliver by cargo-planes, bombers, surface ships, and submarines. Stonefish type weapons can have both capacities, the cause of the tsunami and destroying the naval units. The name of the Russian nuclear sea-mines is not in my mind.
