The electromagnetic thrusters will revolutionize space missions.

Ion and electron engines revolutionize space technology. 

All electromagnetic thrusters are not ion systems. Some engine systems use lasers and microwave systems to boil frozen liquids and water to make pressure for rocket engines. 

Those systems are not as new as people believe. In 2007 the Dawn space probe used ion engines in a successful mission to research asteroids Ceres, Vesta, Juno, and Pallas. That ion thruster allowed it to operate and make maneuvers in the asteroid belt. 



Those systems make long-term propulsion possible. And they can make things like Mars missions more effective. 

Ion thrusters can use solar power. As well as they are suitable for nuclear reactors. And that makes them good tools for things like asteroid belt missions. Solar-power ion thrusters are also suitable for orbital missions. The satellite that can use ion thrusters can operate very flexibly. And it can make them good for scientific and military missions. 

The problem with ion thrusters is that those systems have very weak thrust. The answer could be the Medusa-drive type solution. There those ions will be blown to the solar sail-type structure. 

That ion sail will give new abilities for those systems. That increases their thrust.

Or, the system can use the high-energy plasma that injects it into the engine system. That looks like the hood or the bell. The system shoots a laser beam through that plasma. 

That makes it a whirl. The plasma whirl will press against the front side of the chamber. The ion thrusters are interesting military. Because they can be used as weapons. 

The problem is ions repel each other. That spreads those ion beams. 

How to keep the beam in its form.  In some versions. The target must be loaded with opposite-polar electricity. 




Or something puts magnets on a satellite shell or behind a satellite. 

That pulls plasma from the Van Allen belt to the target. 

That pulls ions or anions to it. Another way to keep the ion beam in its shape is an ion cannon. That shoots an electron beam along with an ion beam. And those opposite polar particles should keep that beam in its form. 

The ion thruster can create the ion layer between satellites and the ground station. That ion system denies communication between ground stations and satellites. 

And it's an effective way to jam the GPS. The ion layer between aircraft and radars makes it impossible to see the ground from the air. But it also can deny ground radars to see the flying aircraft.

When we talk about things like plasma-ion engines, we forget that plasma-ion engines are ion cannons. The ion cloud's density is what determines if the engine is an ion- or plasma-ion engine. Low-density ion flow is an ion engine. High-density ion flow is a plasma-ion engine. The principle of those systems is that the ions will shoot through the particle accelerator.

And the problem is weak thrust in electrostatic thrusters. The weak thrust is the reason for the weak push against the front wall of the engine chamber. The answer to that thing would be the system that shoots ions into the middle of the engine from the sides, or the ion cannon, which can shoot ions at very dense metal plates. In that system, the ion engine pushes against the metal sail. The system functions similarly to a heat-air balloon, with the ion system operating in the opposite direction as usual. The idea for that system is taken from a Donald Duck strip where Donald sits in a boat and pushes air to sail by using a fan.



Originally, this image portrayed an antimatter engine. But it can also portray the ion engine that shoots ions at very dense metal plates. The idea is that the system uses thrust asymmetry. The pushing effect of that system is stronger from the front of the craft. And that thing makes it possible to move that craft through space.


We've all heard about plasma weapons.


Some plasma weapons are systems that cover an area with a plasma layer. The idea is that the plasma layer will prevent radiowaves from traveling through it. But laser systems can make information travel through those plasma layers.

If the aircraft can form a plasma pulse behind it, that system can make it possible to create new types of plasmoid and ion weapons. Researchers made tests where plasma pulses replaced the normal jamming torches of the aircrew. Those ion clouds or ion pulses can destroy an incoming missile's electronics. In some models, fast-flying drones or aircraft form an ion layer between the aircraft and a ground-based radar system. The idea is that the ion cloud will just block the radar from seeing through it.

There are models where GPS is jammed by using plasma layers. The problem is that the plasma layer denies all other radar-based communication through it. In some SDI (Space Defense Initiative) plans, the radar system creates a plasma layer between incoming missiles and denies radar echoes from ground areas.

The ion curtain between target and incoming missiles denies the ability to use radars, and that's why there are research programs for Lidar "laser radars" and optical area data communication.

The reason why radio is such a popular communication tool is simple. Radio waves travel through the walls. In some models, the hollow laser ray will cover the radio waves. The plasma will not disturb laser systems as much as it disturbs radio communication. In that model, either a laser or radio signal transports information to the goal.

But the problem with laser communication is that it will not pass the wall. The information travels in multi-layer radio-maser rays. The X- and gamma-ray lasers are tools that allow communication through walls. Also, terahertz-radiation-based communication could be the next-generation tool.

But there is a possibility that those plasma clouds will impact incoming missiles and aircraft. In that system, the target is loaded with the opposite polarity. That thing pulls that plasma to the target.

Normally, ion cannons are not dangerous because they use monopolar ions. But if there is an anion beam in the middle of the ion flow, that thing keeps those ions in one form. And that thing makes ion cannons able to operate at long range. Ion beams are the ultimate tools. Ions cannot travel through the wall without harming it. But when ions stop, they release their energy as the photon pulse.

That thing makes it possible to use ions as a light baton. Ion beams can also travel through walls, and if there is some target, the system can stop ions at the precise right point. And that makes ions transport their energy to that target. Stopping can happen by using a crossing ion beam or a very accurate magnetic beam. In that version, the ion cannon is equipped with an opposite-polar magnetic system that pulls ions or anions backward.

The new engine will give a boost to hypersonic space flight.




China has made very big work with MHD (MagnetoHydrodynamic Drive). Those ion thrusters are ionizing air at the forward of the engine and then the magnetic system will pull it backward. Other names for the MHD are MDD(MagnetoDynamic Drive) or plasma ion thruster. 

The plasma jet engine called PPT (Pulsed Plasma Thruster) is the system that can drive aircraft higher and faster than anytime before. The nuclear reactor or gas turbine inside the core of the hypersonic aircraft can create electricity for that system.  Pulsed plasma thrusters can give things like jet fighters new abilities. 




That kind of system is developed also by Russians and NASA. And its purpose is to accelerate the aircraft to hypersonic speed. In that kind of system, the carrier plane would take the space shuttle near the orbiter where the orbiter shuttle will release to operate at orbiter. 

The original shuttle constructions by NASA the plans were to take the space shuttle near the edge of the atmosphere by using large-size carrier aircraft. Then the rocket engines of the shuttle would start. And it can operate at the orbiter. 




There were at least plans for making the EMU (Enhanced Mission Unit). That is the internal extra-fuel tanks for the space shuttle. I don't know did a real space shuttle ever use that system. But the shuttle program's first test flights by using the space shuttle launched from the back of the Boeing 747 caused speculations that this version of launch could use in some shuttle flights. 

There is the possibility that the large shuttle will take to the edge of the atmosphere. Then the rocket engines will start. And then that full-scale system will release the miniature shuttle. The miniature shuttle can also be launched by using some other vehicle. And it can take satellites to the cargo bay of the larger shuttle.

Material transfer by using ionic mode (Playing with ions)

Dimension manipulation is the most fascinating thing in the world if it works. In this hypothetical test, we would create the situation, that object would just pass the wall or some other material. This is those could be possible in theory, and if this feels something boring or complicated, I understand that. In the real world, we must keep our mind open to new ideas, and we cannot deny any question or hypothesis without making any tests about those things.


When we are thinking about the radio, the thing that somebody could send messages felt pure fiction, until inventor named Guglielmo Marconi invented the way to transfer messages thru the air by using Morse-alphabet. After that, somebody installed microphone to the radio, and it can send voice thru the air. And then some inventor invented that the radio could control the magnets around cathode tube, what made television possible.


Then somebody installed cathode tube to the radio, and the television was made, and first TV-broadcasts made sad but true in Berlin Olympics in 1936. The last invention is to sending data thru the air, and that allows to broadcast films or pictures thru the air, and also interactive communication across the air is possible.  And then we might think that maybe someday, we could send people across the air or space by using technology, where the ions of the body would be ionized, and after that, the ionization would be removed. After that the person would return to the form and be transferring three atoms in the distance of three meters by using teleportation is not actually same as transferring all human body in distance of kilometers. So if something works in the laboratory, there would be long distance to the solution, what can be used in everyday life.


And this writing is meant for pure theoretical thoughts, but if it would work, that could make the material transfer system, that is shown in Star Trek movies possible. The problem with this system would be the returning the object in the original form. But as we know the problem is not ionizing object, that is what we can do straight away. But when we would shoot the object to target we cannot return it to original form. In theoretical teleportation machine, those ions would be sucked in the atom size black hole, what would send the object to the other point of singularity.


This other singularity can be made in the atmosphere by pumping energy in the certain point of the space, and then the singularity would send that ion cloud to that other point. Or they can use ion cannon, but the problem is to stop those ions in the particular place, but that problem can be solved, in theory of course, by using magnets what would pull the ions in the right moments backward. The problem is to save the form of the object. And this technology is at the theoretical level. The only couple of atoms were transferred across the air, by using magnet field.


If we someday can make the ionization by that way, that the atoms would stay in original form, and then we could remove the ionization, could be possible to make the "Captain Kirk's material transfer machine".   There is another pure theoretical way to make the situation, that object can pass the walls or other material, and it would be ionizing the body of that object. When we are thinking the situation that as an example the atoms in the human body would be ionized, the person might able to walk thru the wall, because ions have one very interesting feature.


They can pass any wall by pulling the atoms away from them, and in theory would be possible to ionize the person's body and then those atoms would make this person the man-made ghost.  And please don't do this at home, because electricity is very dangerous. There are very many so-called "mad scientists" who have made that kind of experiments, and some of them are caught very serious injuries in those experiments.


The man-made ghost has the theoretical background, that the distance between atoms of the body of the object would be increasing, and same way those atoms would be ionized. This would give change to shoot them by the ion cannon, and when they are in some area, the ionization would be removed from those atoms, and then the object would take the same form, what it got before transferring. And this means that this kind of things is only pure fiction. But imagination is the very good thing for people and without imagination, we cannot make new things. Yesterday's Science fiction is the reality of tomorrow.
