A Chinese portable electromagnetic gun can be far more dangerous than anyone expected.



To be dangerous, the railgun must not reach hypersonic speed. The speed of a normal bullet is enough to make those systems dangerous. The railgun can be connected with the automatic launch system, which takes an image of the target. It measures the air pressure, wind, target’s distance, precise position, and speed. And then. The operator aims the gun, and the system shoots the ammunition automatically. The system. It can also use intelligent bullets that the laser point aims to target. 

The system takes an image of the target. And then the system transfers it in the bullet, which uses its wings to drive it into the target. This allows the shooter to shoot precisely behind visual obstacles. The railgun system can also shoot small drone helicopters that fly over enemy heads. And then those mini copters can shoot those targets by using bullets inside them. The system would be. A little bit like the CBU-97 Sensor Fused Weapon, but smaller. The 20-40 mm version of this system is possible. To shoot through the portable railgun or grenade launcher.

Portable railguns reach a very high rate of fire. That means that the system can act as a portable version of the minigun. But the electromagnetic launching system makes it more flexible than regular guns. And another thing is that those electromagnetic weapons are not jammed in the same way as normal guns. The EM gun doesn’t need gunpowder, and that’s why it can act in very wet conditions. The main problem. With those guns is the battery system. Those batteries are heavy. They are as easy to change as the magazine of the gun. The system doesn’t cause flash in the dark. To be dangerous, the gun must not send ammunition.

With hypersonic speed. The system can adjust the speed of ammunition from high subsonic to high supersonic. The speed of 9 mm. A Parabellum bullet is enough to kill a person. The small-sized EM guns don’t cause explosive alarms. The system can accelerate ammunition by using an electric arc. And then Gauss's track accelerates the ammunition. This kind of system can shoot 1000-3000 rounds per minute. 

The small railguns can be mounted on the drones. And the lack of recoil makes them suitable for small drones. Small drones. They  can be equipped with centrifugal cannons. Centrifugal cannon. It is just a spinning plate. The problem is that. The muzzle velocity of centrifugal cannons is not as high as that of magnetic cannons. 

The system that includes both systems. Centrifugal and magnetic accelerators can give far higher muzzle velocity and rate of fire than centrifugal cannon or magnetic cannon alone. 

The rate of fire could rise far higher if Gauss’s track is connected to a centrifugal cannon. The centrifugal cannon is a spinning plate that can guide those rounds to Gauss’s track. The system can drop metal balls onto the spinning plate. And then the hole in the frame lets those metal balls travel into the magnetic accelerator.

Kinetic energy bombardment is the new threat in the military world

X-37B is a small size space-shuttle, what is a very mysterious creature in the skies. The shuttle itself offers a platform for modular systems, and one of the most feared military solutions is the so-called kinetic energy missiles. Those missiles can installed in X-37B very easily, and the shuttles manipulator hand can be used to operate that thing. The system could be actually the rocket drum, what is normally installed to helicopter or aircraft, and those rockets can equip with concrete profiles, what would keep them shapes in extreme heat, what causes the rocket hits the atmosphere, and the resistance of the atmosphere would heat that projectile in very high temperature. 


This kind of solutions bases everyday technology, what would put in the new environment. The kinetic-energy bomber should not actually be a big size or complicated system. And sometimes "Mercury" capsule is actually the early version of the kinetic energy bomber. That system could be simple like the flying rocket mortar, what would shoot the rockets very sharply in some targets. In the Soviet "Almaz" program was planned to install 20-30 mm. aircraft cannons in the spacecraft. That ammunition would equip with the ceramic nucleus. And that would allow making even the river on the ground. 


There have been stories of the United States giant kinetic energy bombardment system, what was called "Project Thor". Many times there were claiming, that "Thor" was railgun or electromagnetic gun, what is installed in some satellite.  But in the real life that electromagnetic system would not be necessary, and many times I have thought that this system would be the giant airgun. Those pressure base space-cannons are actually similar that the cannons, what is used in the normal combat situations, and they can be very effective. 


The ammunition, what would be metal tungsten, will shoot to target by pressure, what is made by burning hydrogen and oxygen in the combustion chamber, and if the same force would be targeted to opposite direction, would that keep the satellite in the direct position. Sometimes the weapon like "Thor" is suitable for making channels in the dry areas, and that's why it should be classified as the mining equipment. The United Nations have prohibited those weapons, but the nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction are also prohibited. The contracts prohibit the MIRV or multi-warhead missiles. And any nuclear state is going to limit their arsenals, and the development of the new nuclear missiles is going on.

The giant accelerator would allow interstellar traveling

The power source for interstellar traveling is the major problem in those futuristic spacecraft. If we are thinking about Warp-drive, what can travel faster than light, we must realize, that we would need the brand new technology, in the very giant scale. The spacecraft that would travel faster than light must be base the technology, what is ever created in the real life, and making this technology really is the very complicated process. The shape of the spacecraft would be like some science fiction spacecraft, what uses antimatter or WARP-propulsion for increasing the speed of 80-90 percent of the speed of light.


And in this spacecraft would be particle accelerator, what could be like the linear version of "Hedron", what is located in CERN. That accelerator would be like some extreme long tube at the nose of the spacecraft, what might be quite similar, what is planned to use in "Project Thor". The difference would be that the device is equipped with antimatter-motors, what will accelerate it for speed, what is near the speed of light, and then the accelerator would be launched. But the size of this spacecraft would be much bigger, what is planned for "Thor".


The interstellar spacecraft would first accelerate the top speed, what could be something like 90 percent of the speed of light, and the particle accelerator would shoot the capsule to the top speed. The problem of this hypothetical spacecraft would be the size of this thing. The accelerator must be over hundreds of kilometers long, and the electricity, what is used in this gigantic rail gun is very high. This spacecraft would be built in the space, and it would be very huge. If it sometimes would be made.


So there must be the very powerful power source, that this very huge spacecraft would be worked. And after the spacecraft have been shot by the railgun there is no return back. The capsule would fly to Alpha Centaur in about two years, but the problem is the slowing. And of course, the home trip would be difficult. In one scenario this spacecraft would use sophisticated artificial intelligence, and it would have sub-robots, what would build another accelerator at the orbiter of the target star.


This kind of artificial intelligence could also make the copy of the spacecraft if that is damaged. This technology is called "Von Neumann technology". In this case, those robots would search suitable materials from asteroids, what is orbiting the star by using laser-spectrometers. Then the materials would be transferred to the factory, and then those systems can create microchips and other stuff, what is needed for new spacecraft. This kind of systems can help us to colonize the entire galaxy in the distant future, but there are many technical problems to win before the trip to stars would be real.

Maybe in the distant future, we will make the stable base on the Mars-planet

Scientists have found water on the surface of the planet Mars, and that would be given the change to build the base to that planet. The water will give the capacity to produce the drinking water at the Mars, and build the greenhouses on that planet. Also, water might be used in the electrolytic process, what allows to produce the hydrogen and oxygen on the surface of that planet. Those gases can be used in the fuel cells, what is capable to use in the vehicles, what are used on the surface and of course hydrogen and oxygen are necessary for the rockets, what will be launched to the Martian orbital, and there those capsules will be connected to the nuclear rockets, what will bring them to the earth.


The problem of the Martian base is that the costs of that operation would be gigantic. But in the hypothetical Mars station might also use the advanced biotechnology to produce more sophisticated food that only the vegetables. Also, the milk and flesh can be produced by using the cell plantages. Those methods are actually very simple, we must just take the cells, what produce milk and then put them to the plant, but that would be quite an expensive way to produce those products.


But the problem with the Mars-station is the price. There must find something, what will be used in the factories, that the making the base to that planet will be seriously considered. But if there would find some minerals, what can be used in the factories on the Earth, the nuclear rockets or interplanetary shuttles would be the expensive way to bring that cargo to the Earth.


Those interplanetary shuttles would work by the nuclear thermal NERVA rocket, and they would be position at the orbiter, where the cargo would deliver to the planet surface, with the conventional shuttles. But the costs of this fictional space program would be extremely high. Of course, there would be the change to deliver those minerals at the very low cost. This solution bases the extreme powerful rail-gun, what uses the nuclear reactor for giving the power supply for that extreme powerful accelerator.


Giant rail-gun will be shooting the capsule to the earth by very powerful magnetic rails. If that railgun will be used, the spacecraft would be needed on the energy for breaking. Or if we would use our imagination, there might be the magnetic baskets, where those space probes would be taken. Those magnetic baskets would be just very powerful magnets, what would be decreasing the speed of that space probe.


But this way to travel between the planets is far in the future. And the accelerator must build two places Earth orbiter and another device must be position in the Martian orbiter. And there would be giant technical problems about that solution, but maybe in some day in distant future, there would be station and cities on the red planet.
